Business plans serve as the story and guide for anyone who has interest in a business. This includes owners, investors, partners, and employees. Plans help business owners organize the concepts of their enterprise in one place with a format that is clear and comprehensive to those reviewing it. They also serve to assist interested parties in understanding the personality of a business, its current goals, and the investment opportunities may exist.
What You Get
We at Order of Merchants have constructed a 4 Phase business plan model that aims to maximize captivation and comprehension by those who review it. We can help you design just one or all phases within this model. Your business planning needs depend on a number of factors such as budget, fundraising method, amount of funding needed, your type of business, and your current stage in business development. We can work with you to determine which phase or phases of our business plan model are right for you. The following is a description of each of the 4 Phases so you can gain a clearer understanding of our complete business plan model.
Phase 1: The Elevator Pitch - A 1 minute pitch and is the most concise way a business owner can explain their business story to an investor or other party of interest. This pitch can be in written, verbal, or video form.
Phase 2: The Pitch Deck - A pitch deck is the second most concise story of a business. It usually contains a general overview of the business, its fundraising goals, its investment opportunities, and is visually stimulating. Pitch deck presentations are usually about 15 minutes and have anywhere from 25 to 100 slides. This is intended to be a brief and stimulating presentation that helps generate the interest of prospective investor/partners in learning more about your company.
Phase 3: The Executive Summary - Our executive summaries are usually about 8 to 12 pages often express the business story in a more formal light. Here prospective investors and partners can inspect the budget, forecast, and present business agenda so they can gain insight on how the company goals are going to come to fruition. Our executive summaries follow SBA guidelines, but also contain some additional elements that we feel are necessary to include in this stage of the business planning process.
Phase 4: The Comprehensive Business Plan - The comprehensive business plan is the full movie of your business. It is the most detailed explanation of the who, what, when, where, and why of your enterprise. Comprehensive plans can range from 15 to 30 pages not taking into consideration share offering disclosure documents or investment contracts.
